Match report by Hugh Evans of the U13s
For the first 15 minutes it was all Gordano with the game being played in Clevedon's half of the pitch. After about 15 minutes of hard work the Gordano boys broke the deadlock with Jordan powering over the line for the first try.
Josh then gave the conversion a good effort but unfortunately the ball fell just short of the posts.
The second ten minutes were the complete opposite of the first with Clevedon pushing to score. The Sharks defended well but in the last play of the half Clevedon pushed over the line for a well deserved try.
Then the Clevedon fly-half gave the conversion a fantastic effort but the ball just slipped wide of the posts. The half-time score was: 5-5.
The second half was mainly played around the half way line but with ten minutes to go after stringing together some promising phases Gordano went over in the corner.
Sam Greene produced a superb bit of support play for the try. He took an offload and used all his strength to heave himself over the line.
Jordan then gave the conversion all he had but the ball failed to sail through the posts.
After holding Clevedon off for 5 minutes Gordano finally wilted under Clevedon's pressure and let in a try. Clevedon's fly-half then converted under immense pressure.
For Clevedon it was only a matter of keeping the ball to play out the final minutes which they did.
The final score was 10-12.
Gordano played very well to get so close to Clevedon who earlier on in the season had put 6 tries past Gordano. Now the lads are looking forward to a game against Tom's old team St Brendons on Sunday.
