1st XV 2006

The South West's No 1 Local Rugby Club! 

Welcome to Gordano RFC. Please feel free to explore the site. We are a small local rugby club on the outskirts of Bristol covering the areas of Portishead, & Pill. We run 3 senior teams, our 1st XV play in the Somerset Premier League, the 2nds in Somerset 2 North League and the 3rd XV compete in the  Bristol Combination Merit Table.

We also run a very successful and well attended Mini & Junior section offering training sessions to all age groups.

 Seal Of Approval and Club Mark

At the end of the 2006 / 2007 season GRFC were awarded the prestigious Club Mark and Community Rugby Seal of Approval.  The awards recognise the commitment that we as a club make to our members, players and the sport of rugby in the community.

 

Under 10's Victorious!

Gordano U10s took a squad of 11 extremely gifted players to the tournament hosted by Weston Hornets. 5 matches were played over 2 days and Gordano emerged as champions.

Perfect Match

It was a cold Thursday night training in February and Gordano RFC had been contacted by Keith Coughlan on behalf of the National Lottery for help. They wanted 3 strapping rugby players to appear in a promotional photo shoot on the theme of the "Perfect Match"

Not wanting to let the National Lottery down, also there was money involved, Keith Leaker searched high and low for the said 3 strapping players. Unfortunately, availability was scarse that evening so Keith had to do with Ben Gilmore, Andre Bailey and Ed Whittaker. I have interviewed one of the stars involved "Andre Bailey" and he assured me that in Picture 2 he was asked to look "surprised" and he's very upset that it appears that he looks "excited" instead!
