Gordano v Chipping Sodbury

Gordano 5
Chipping Sodbury 29
Half-time 5-10

Sorry, guys, a disappointing game for everyone. Let's hope you have better luck against Plymstock in the cup, and you beat the ladies from Devon!
The first half was close, but two breakaway tries left us five points down. Their second try from a scrum was perhaps rather dubious but never mind!
Cerys, Lisa, the two Alices, Carrie, Sam. Coral and Erin all made great runs. Ellen also played well until she had to retire with a bloody nose! We won some good driving rucks, although sometimes we were let down by our tackling (for the first try admittedly someone at top speed is difficult to stop!) and wayward passes.
Carrie capped a great first half with a wonderful try - well done!
Izzy played well with her usual authority and skill, particularly in the second half. Don't worry about the bump on the nose - it looks as good as ever!
In fact the second half wasn't great for us, except for a few bright spots - Lisa's great pickup and run, Tammy's great tackle, and spirited running from Jill, Kath, Erin, Coral, Alice H and Izzy, Sadly Lisa, Cerys and Coral were injured. Let's hope they are all fit for the next game!
Scrums
Again uncontested which took something from the game. Should teams get penalty points, if they don't play a fit front row?
Lineouts
Good jumping from Sam and Tammy - the lifters did well again, too!
Forward of the game
Erin - a brilliant game with some very strong runs in an impressive back row - also well done Alice and Carrie!
Back of the game
Lisa - great speed and skill from this wonderful full back. Izzy also had a great game!
