Gordano welcomed Hornettes to the Lane and once again showed how much they have improved over the season.
In an evenly contested first half Gordano competed well with the high flying ladies from Weston-Super-Mare and indeed turned around 7 -5 to the good. Solid set piece, excellent defence and imaginative attack once more a feature.
However the second half saw the visitors raise the tempo against the ever tiring hosts. A result no doubt of completing 3 league fixtures in 8 days.
Weston ran in three more tries and deservedly took the points. Gordano left to reflect on how they had been a match for a team that earlier in the season had beaten them by 58 points.
The Piranhas points, a try for Rai-Lee Pham, converted by Caz Goddard.
Woman of the Match went to Marie Craig who came back from injury with a barnstorming performance in the front row.
Marie, grateful for her team mates accolade said "Wow what a match!! This season I've struggled with injuries which has stopped me from doing something I enjoy! Today I got back out on the rugby pitch after a few months off and loved every minute of it. Injury free!!"
