Great rugby played

Match 1
Gordano conceded an early try but hit back with a fine try by Sam Kessler after a long spell of possession. Yatton then proceeded to take full advantage of the slope for the remainder of the first half and their speedy backs scored 3 tries to establish a 4-1 lead. Ben Critchley’s half-time talk inspired his team to greater effort in the second half and Alex Bowell’s score direct from a line-out reduced the deficit. Ben Critchley added a captain’s try to make the score 4-3 but with Gordano pressing for an equaliser in the last minute, Yatton managed to break the full length of the pitch for the clinching score.
Final score: Gordano 3 tries, Yatton 5 tries.

Match 2
In an exciting second match there was never more than one score between the teams. Yatton took the lead twice in the first half but were pegged back by tries from Huw Evans and then by Ben Critchley. The second half belonged to Nathan Moore as he bagged a hat-trick of tries, including one when he was driven over the lines by his team-mates. Yatton could only manage two scores in reply.
Final score: Gordano 5 tries, Yatton 4 tries.

Match 3
The extra pace of one or two of the Yatton players helped them to a 5-1 half-time lead in the final match with Alex Bowell scoring the Gordano try. Yatton scored again before Gordano mounted a fight back with tries from William Cattermole following a sustained spell of pressure and from Huw Evans who forced himself over in the corner.
Final score: Gordano 3 tries, Yatton 7 tries.

Although losing by two matches to one overall, this was an extremely encouraging performance by the Gordano players. The retention of possession in the mauls and after the tackle was particularly impressive.
Every member of the squad played their part. Alfie Rice, Jamie Skinner, and Jacob Evans excelled in the loose where they claimed countless amount of
50-50 ball while the support running of Macauley Chesson, Kylan Stillwood, Oliver Harrison and Matthew Anthony-Wilkinson meant they all came close to scoring tries.
