Cracking Start to 2009

Chipping Sodbury v Gordano U10's.

2009 got off to cracking start for the Gordano U10's. Playing in treacherous conditions, the match started with strong tackling by Alex O on a kid who was three times his size. That gave inspiration to the side, with strong performances in the forwards from Aaron C and Will M also. Toby B had a fine game at scrum half, linking up well with Noah HMc and constantly putting Chipping Sodbury under pressure. Noah set the centres running strongly and Harry G and Harry O made some strong ground. The wings, Joe C and Tom B ran and tackled superbly.
Midway through the first half came the decisive moment. Toby won some excellent ball and made ground before setting Noah free. Noah timed his pass to perfection for Joe to run it in. It was a try that every junior coach dreams of, and considering the wet conditions, one that will remain in our minds for a long time.
In the second half, the subs Will LF, Bill M, Tom K and Alex W did not let up on the pressure, and but for the conditions, would surely have added to the tally.
All in all, this was a fantastic performance from all the boys and certainly our best of the season so far.
