After a long and for some hard pre season the 2nds got their 2013-14 campaign off to a winning start in a friendly away to Burnham on Sea. The conditions were bright and sunny on the journey down but the heavens opened in good rugby fashion on the stroke of 3pm!
A new look team captained by stand in Andy Davies the 2nds got off to a slow start and the first 10 minutes was a scrappy affair to say the least. Things settled when Louis Leighton broke through the Burnham defence to make a 40 yard run which enabled Gordano to have territory for the first time. From the resulting set plays strong running centre Rob Dyer bundled over for the first try of the season.
After this the game change into a great spectacle and a further 7 tries were scored in the next 55 minutes.
