With several players missing, Sharks were still able to put out a full 15 and also provide Bristol Saracens with 3 players. Saracens kicked off, and immediately Sharks went about their work to score an outstanding try. The ball moved from right to left, through several pair of hands, with a combination of short and long passes. The ball was recycled quickly on two occasions with over 20 passes being strung together with winger Sam Green eventually going over in the corner. The try clearly showed the potential of the side to play an exciting style of rugby

The theme was maintained throughout the game, with some excellent passing, support and off-loading. Further tries from Ben Critchley and 2 from Jordan Shaddick, came from the speed of play which created space. Saracens hot back with a try of their own to show what they were capable of given time and space.

Matt Wilkinson, Sam Merrick and Jacob Evans returned to the Sharks at half-time, with Josh Porter, Jordan Shaddick and Will Hawkins trading places to play for Saracens. Although the second half was more evenly contested on paper, with one try apiece – Sharks continued to look sharp and play the ball through the hands. They came close on several occasions through Hamish Bonar, Sam Kessler & George Cogzell. George Briggs eventually scored as Saracens ran out of defenders, and Jordan Shaddick scored for Saracens.

This was the outstanding performance of the season, with every player contributing positively to a very enjoyable game. A good deal of credit must go to the 6 players who played a half for the opposition and who played so well to make the game really competitive.
