Chew Valley U14s V Gordano U14s

The second half of the U14s season kicked off with an away fixture on a cool, breezy but sunny morning. Gordano U14s set off to turn around a run of three defeats and return to the winning form of the early 2014-2015 season.

Early pressure from the home side was resisted by the visitors who ran out from a penalty with Barr completing a 75m try under the posts. A second score by Chigbo followed three phases of play pushing the early advantage to 10 points. A third followed after further strong running from Barr.

At 15 nil up Barr completed his third try which Chew replied to taking the score to 5-20. The final try of the half followed a break out by Ando and left the score at 5-25 at the turnaround.

The second half Gordano played with the wind and started with the same strong tackling, team work and committed running rewarded with a Heaven created try for Magromalis. Another series of phases saw Ando (conv Chigbo) cross for his second and push the advantage to 32 points. King (conv Southey) crossed for his second try of the morning . The visitors continued to stay focused and a team effort produced a second Magromalis try. Hawkins (conv Chigbo) sniped a final try to complete a 5-56 victory.
