Gordano Sharks U14s vs Avonvale 14s

Returning home after back to back away defeats Sharks faced Avonvale on the lower club pitch. An even first opening minutes saw both sides testing defences. The visitors touched down first with two well executed tries.

At 12 nil Gordano mounted their first concerted pressure on the visitors line, led by Ando with a strong run. to score beneath the posts. Avonvale replied with two further well executed tries to push the lead to 5-22 at half time. The visitors commitment to retain possession was the basis of their dominance .

The second half kicked off with more determined tackling from the Sharks but the visitors continued to hold onto the ball through phases of possession. At 5-27 the home side struggled to escape their own half but weathered waves of attacks.

Gordano stemmed the points throughout the half through determined tackling but struggled to organise concerted attacks. The game ended with the 22 point margin still in place and a determination to get back to winning ways in 2015.
