Gordano Sharks U14 vs Chew Valley U14

A last Sunday of September fixture in the sun at The Graveyard kicked off with 13 aside. It contrasted with last years away fixture in the rain.

In a well fought first half strong defensive work from both teams ensured a lively first 10 minutes punctuated by tries from Ando and Sefton (Conv Southley) and Clements (Conv Barr) for The Sharks.

At 21 nil Chew fought back to score a well placed try wide after a series of phases of play. In response Eichenberger scored a fourth Gordano try. Just before the whistle Ando finished the first half with a second try. These were both converted by Barr leaving the score at 35-5 to the hosts.

At the start of the second half Gordano weathered a flurry of Chew attacks well but kept them out of their 22. Solo Underwood and Barr tries from deep started the Gordano scoreboard ticking. Chew fought back again to 47 - 10. It was Eichenberger who finished off a Gordano response in the corner with the Barr conversion ricocheting off the upright followed by an Ando created try for Clarke. Gough finished the game with a solo run from deep to leave the final score at 64-10 after an Ando conversion.
