Match Report by Gary Townsend (Coach)
Gordano V Old Bristolians (Away) March 16th 2014
Won 45 – 0
On a bright day, Sharks travelled to Old Bristolians with 29 players. Already agreeing to lend Old Bs 3 players, that soon turned to 4, and then following injury 5.
That suited both sides well and all players who took to the field enjoyed the experience and played to the best of their ability. In total a dozen players played for both sides. Old Bristolians put up an heroic performance throughout, but were overwhelmed by an ambitious Sharks side which combined powerful forward play with some deft touches & direct running wide out.
Credit must go to the boys in green who worked hard, and for whom it would have been easy to capitulate but who showed resilience and resolve throughout. Although 7 tries were scored they all had to be worked for, and a lesser side would have conceded many more. Winger Harrision Hughes played exceptionally well for both sides, and was ably assisted by fly-half Hamish Bonar and debutant centre, Henry Edwards, who also scored a try.
Well done to both sides and the referee for an entertaining game played in a very good spirit.
