There were some fine individual performances from Adam Chadwick, Ryan Kay (who was unlucky to be held up over the line), Sam Green, Harrision Hughes and Connor King, but the whole less than the sum of the parts. George Briggs capped a fine defensive display with a solo try from his own 22, which served to underline what might have been. Even had Sharks been on top form, Dursley were the better side and paid Sharks the ultimate compliment by maintaining their intensity and accuracy throughout the game to record a 60 – 7 point victory.

A hard lesson but an acceptance that it was just one of those days. An attendance of 28 boys at a rigorous training session on the following Wednesday was a real pick-me-up.
