The U15s 2016 started with wet and windy January game in South Gloucestershire. Both teams played with commitment in horrendous conditions. Leon Paul opened the scoring with the first Gordano attack and a try earned by a typically elusive and committed run. The remainder of the first half was a well fought battle. Both sides competed with determination and high quality defence. The fact the score remained at nil - 5 was a credit to both sides tackling and defensive organisation rather than any lack of attacking ambition.
The visitors started the second half with the wind behind them. An early fierce Gordano thrust into Thornbury's 22 ended with an attacking scrum 5m out. Number 8 Oli Heaven picked up from the rear and drove over for a second Sharks' try, converted by the boot of fly half Macey King. Oli and Macey both had significant attacking impact throughout the game.
An unconverted try from Thornbury finished the game and left a final score of 5 to 12 to Gordano The hard fought victory was a tribute to all the Sharks wearing the clubs red jersey.
