Sharks make it 10 out 10

On Saturday Gordano made it 10 league wins out of 10 away to Imperial. The home side started well and saw a lot of the ball in the first half with a series of committed attacks at the heart of Gordano. The defence looked strong though and Gordano were happy to play in large parts without the ball. Turnover ball in midfield saw some good continuity from the sharks taking the ball into the Imps 22 where Owen Abbott found a short outside space to score on the right - Rowsell adding the conversion. Gordano struggled for possession in the first half, often frustrated by a well drilled Imperial lineout. After 35 minutes second row Tom Arnall saw yellow for a perceived infringement at the breakdown, this gave Imperial the ball close to the Sharks line and were disciplined enough to get themselves over for a well deserved try to level the scores. Gordano managed to sneak the lead just before half time, again through Abbott who cut a lovely line off his centre partner following a fine break and offload from Matt Steven. Half time 7-14

In the second half Gordano controlled the penalty count and kept hold of the ball better and scored again through Adam Ollis' first try of the season for the 1st team following a break from man of the match Tim Statton (no 8). Unfortunately for Ollis it could well be his only try of the season as minutes later he dislocated his shoulder making a tackle on the Imperial full back and went straight to A&E.

As Gordano started to look more comfortable scrum half Kaine Southey got to the ball fractionally in front of Tim Statton to score from a push over scrum and just after the hour mark centre Jack Hendy powered over from close range. The final score of the game was by fly half Joe Rowsell who scored a lovely individual try chipping over the defence to gather himself and go over.
