The game started off with a very Physical and experienced Clevedon side seeing a lot of possession early on. However first points were from a Gordano penalty (Joe Rowsal) after a kicked clearance from Kaine Southey and a good chase from Tim Statton resulted in Clevedon killing the ball just outside the 22. Points were levelled soon after before continued Clevedon pressure resulted in the first try by the Clevedon left wing(8-3). Gordano started to get back into the game with some fast counter attacks which lead to 2 more penalties from Joe Rowsal leaving the half time score 8-9.
The second half started with a lot of early pressure from Gordano resulting in more penalties conceded by the home side, one of which was kicked to the corner where a strong drive lead Jack Thomas over the line for his first score since converting from the wing to the back row. Another driving maul from close range resulted again in a try this time for Lee Worgan - both converted from out wide by Rowsal (8-21). Ill discipline then let Clevedon back in the game with a series of penalties pushing Gordano back before a well worked line out move sent Celvedon over (15-23). The fitness of the Gordano team started to show as they re-took the advantage with Josh Richards getting on the end of a lose ball following a charge down from Captain Fred Young. The impressive Rowsal maintaining 100% with another fine conversion (15-30).
The final say was Clevedons with a penalty try for a tackle off the ball by Chris Worgan who had only recently returned from the sin bin - final score 22-30.
