Gordano extended their unbeaten run to 5 matches after a hard fought win at home to a much improved Barton hill. Barts started the game the brighter and played a wider game than they did earlier in the season and were soon on the score sheet with a try for there winger out wide, conversion missed. Gordano kept there heads up and attacked straight from the kick off causing problems in the Barts back line. With Gordano keeping ball well and building phases it wasn't long until a hole would open up and it was flanker Jack Thomas that burst though and scored close to the post, conversion added my Sam Hodge. With the wind behind them Barts played the game in Gordano`s half and kept them under a lot of pressure throughout the half and scored another 2 try`s all unconverted to lead at half time 7-15.
Gordano stayed confident and now with the wind at their back turned the game on its head in the first 10 minutes of the half with 2 quick try`s first from second row Matt Stedman and the second from Back row Chris Gillanders. Gordano got their bonus point try threw winger ben clark after, new signing from Cleve, George Chapman spotted the space out wide. As ever with Barts they never give up and got back into the game themselves with another try before Matt Stedman got his second try with the second row running in from 25 yards on the wing. Barts again got back into the game with another try before Gordano killed the game off with a Penalty goal in the last minute by Sam Hodge to win the game 34-27.
This was a very good game for Gordano to win with 6 regulars unavailable and the quality of the opposition they had to knuckle down and keep faith in their ability and they did that very well to take the win and another bonus pointy win.
Next week Gordano travel to Cheltenham who are in some fine form themselves. ko2,30.
