Gordano travelled to Barton hill on Saturday with a much changed side but were still confident of collecting an import win.
Gordano started well playing up the hill, controlling the early exchanges but were unable to collect any points in the period. Barts on the other hand collected 3 points from a penalty goal. Gordano did score as Tom Arnall barged his way over for a Converted try, Mike dyer with the extras.
Gordano were Defending well with the home team keen to add more points while having the advantage of the slope and picked up a try with the last play of the half to take a half time lead 8-7.
Gordano knowing they need to take the game to barts came out of the blocks with a bang with Royce Chiddle charging down the feild enabling captain Arnall to get his second try of the match. Conversion add. Gordano relaxed at this point and tee hone side took it as a opportunity to attack up the hill getting a try under the posts. 15-14. Barts continued their good form and got another try to extend their lead to 6 points. Captain arnall stepped up again to score his 3rd or the match to take the game to the death but the conversation slipped wide that would have taken the lead. Barts dominated possession in the last minutes of the game and extended their lead with a penalty goal. Gordano went hunting for the winning points and finished the game on the hone teams line but ran out of time.
It was another disappointing result for gordano who at times are play some good rugby.
It's a week off next week but the following week will be an important game at home against Cheltenham. 2.30 ko.
