A great 2nd half performance ensures victory.

Gordano got its first 5 point win of the season after solid display at Caswell Lane on Saturday. Gordano bounce back after the season opener against Clevedon which they didn't get any points even though they played very well.

Gordano started brightly and it only took 5 minutes for them to get on the score board after quick ball gave scrum half Scott Magrath a platform to snipe for a try under the posts, conversion added by Mike Dyer.

Gordano carryed on looking threatening and could have scored more trys but for good cover tackling from Wells. Wells were now keeping the ball well and ended up scoring a try of there own under the posts. Gordano seemed to be giving the ball away as quick as they were winning it back which made for a stalemate for 20 minutes but as soon as gordano kept the ball for more than 3 phases it didn't take long before Jack Thomas was under the post for another 7 points. Wells responded straight away with another try under the post for themselves. Ht 14-14

Gordano now playing into a strong wind knew they needed to look after the ball much better than they did in the first half and with wells having a fly half with a good boot it was extra important. The wells flyhalf showed his threat with 2 penalties to give them the lead for the first time but gordano weren't going to roll over and after a good kick off gordano built the phases and Jack Thomas powered over for his second of the afternoon. Gordano kept the pressure on wells and were rewarded with an easy 3points for Mike dyer. With 10 minutes to go gordano finished the game off with 2 trys in 2 minutes, first Noah Holmes-McAdam finishing in the corner and the second from captain Tom Arnall who pinned his ears back from 30 meters to flop in the corner. Both trys converted by dyer to extend gordano's lead. Wells came back strong in the last couple of minutes of the game and picked up a try of their own but it was too late for them the damage had been done. Full time 36-25
It was a fully committed performance by gordano who get there rewards for their positive play.

Next week gordano play their first away game at Matson, 3pm ko.
