Another 5 points, 1 step closer to the title, 2 games left.

Gordano travelled down the m5 to bottom of the league Bridgwater for what you would hope to be a simple 5points win for the top team but that was not the case. Bridgwater started brightly and were using their physical forwards to make ground and put gordano under pressure, gordano on the other hand were being careless with the ball and not setting a platform to work from. It came out of nowhere when gordano actually put some phases together and Jordan Mitchell scored under posts for a 7-0 lead. This didn't start a good patch for gordano, quite the opposite as bridgwater probed deeply into the gordano 22 and with a yellow card given against Joe Rowsell gordano were up against it. To be fair to gordano good defence kept Bridgwater out for 10 minutes before they finally got over to level the scores. Half time 7-7.

The start of the second half saw the home team take the lead with a penalty but gordano realising they needed to up the pace started to play with a bit more direction and with strong runs from Thomas, arnall and petch saw gordano finally playing some good rugby. Gordano started the fight back when Noah homes broke clear and put Sam hodge in to score out wide. Shortly after the gordano pack were bossing the game more and from a catch and drive the forwards got over the line for prop Andy Peterson. With 10 minutes to go gordano went looking for the very important bonus point try and it was captain arnall who barged he way over to open the lead up to 10-24. The game was still in the balance and gordano didn't let up and winger josh Richards sprinted away from the defence to score in the corner and put the game to bed. In the last minute centre elliot handscomb broke away and and put the cheery on top with a fine individual try. Final score 10-38.

Gordano will put this game behind them very quickly. The players showed mental fatigue after a big Easter schedule but they came away from the game with the 5 points they needed. With 2 games left gordano need 9 more points to take the league title. Next week 4th place weston super mare 2s who have wilveriscombe 4 days after. They could have a massive say in where the league goes let's hope it's caswell Lane. Saturday 3pm ko.

On Saturday Gordano are holding a charity day raising money for the Wallace and gromit grand appeal. Come and watch a great game and raise some money for a fantastic charity.
