After nearly 2 months without a good run of league games gordano started the run into the end of the season with an big win against fellow promotion pushing Avon.

Gordano started the game brightly but some unforced errors let Avon off the hook and also gave them a good platform to attack themselves. After a run of penalties against gordano the ref awarded Avon a penalty try after a scrum infringement. Gordano brushed this to one side and we're happy to kick the ball back into the Avon half. Gordano were keeping the ball well and were making ground in tight and outwide so it was no surprise when fly half Joe Rowsell found a some space to open gordano's account, convention added my hodge. Hodge added another 3 points shortly after and on the half hour mark Rowsell again spotted the space in front of him and powered over for another try, converted by hodge. Half time 17-7.

Gordano started the second half poorly and let Avon into their half and were given an easy 3 points in front of the post but Gordano hit back immediately Sam hodge chipped the ball over the defence and out sprinted the covering full back to score a great individual try. He also added the extras. Gordano kept on the attack and Rowsell scampered in for his second before Avon hit back with a try of their own. With less than 10 minutes left hodge intercepted a pass and scored his second and the afternoon was rounded up with Rowsell collecting his hat-trick after a break from from the halfway line. Final score 45-17.

This was a fine performance by the team who have had a indifferent last couple of weeks but showed their quality and dominated a league rival. The marks barbers man of the match has to be Joe Rowsell with his hat trick of trys. Gordano now move ahead of Avon to 2nd in the league and our 8 points behind wiveliscombe but gordano do have 2 games in hand. The games come thick and fast for gordano now with Minehead at home on Good Friday, 7.45 ko then away to imperial on Easter Monday 3.00ko.
