Weston beaten by 1s with a great display.

Gordano continued their winning run with a fine display away to 4th placed weston super mare. Weston 2s who have been unbeaten at home all year, started with a gift when full back ross bennett intercepted from a loose off load to sprint 60 meters to score close to the post. Gordano were still finding there feet in the game which started very open but after some close drives a maul was set up and gordano drove weston back 15 meters for hooker Zaine Tovey to score. Weston were keen to give quick ball to their backs that were full of 1st team experience and when gordano lost the ball in contact weston quickly moved the ball and centre Chris Young danced though the defence to score. Gordano came back strongly and using their more powerful runners to make ground though the middle and gordano were awarded a try even though they were 5meters out. After the ref realised his mistake gordano kept the pressure on weston and when gordano were playing advantage from a penalty fly half Joe roswell dropped a goal of a rare 3 points. With the half coming to an end gordano were building pressure on the weston line again and it was hooker zaine tovey who scored again after a catch and drive from the line out. Ht 14-13.

Gordano were confident at half time that they have worked out how to play in the 2nd half. After weston finally came out for the 2nd half gordano pressurised their line out and after 3 successive turn overs the weston hooker Eddie hunt got frustrated and was sin binned for killing the ball. After his first half success fly half Joe roswell went for a second drop goal for gordano to take the lead for the first time in the match. Weston were gifted a penalty 30 meters out and fly half George Chapman slotted over the 3 points for weston to retake the lead. Gordano were reduced to 14 men after a yellow card for center Sam hodge so Gordano kept the ball for as long as they could and the driving maul was working well so it was no surprise that they scored a 3rd try from one with replacement James walker coming up for the ball. With the game coming to an tense finish gordano kept the ball tight which frustrated weston into giving away lots of penalties and no 8 Ben Cox was sinned bin for being over keen at the break down. With only 1 minutes left weston assumed that Gordano would just pick and go till the end but no 8 Tim Statton noticed space on the blind side and ran in the key bonus point try to finish the game in style. Conversion added by hodge to take the final score to 17-30.

This was a great game by two top teams, Gordano reacted and changed style to how they have been playing all year. Gordano have now played everyone in the league at the half way point and lead the league by 2 points from wiveliscombe who play each other in the new year. Their was some Great performances across the side with no 8 Tim Statton and Jack Thomas having fantastic games and captain Tom arnall working hard all day but the mark's Barbers man of the match was fly half Joe roswell who's 2 drop goals and general game management was difference between to two sides.

Next week Gordano are home to stothert and Pitt, 2.30ko.
