1s make hard work at home.

Gordano went top of Somerset Premier on Saturday with a bonus point win over Bridgwater 2s. Knowing a win would put them top gordano went out hard from the start and defended the halfway line like it was their try line and once the opportunity opened to steal the ball they did and scored with their first touch of the game though Jack Thomas. Gordano were on the score sheet again very soon with winger Elliott handscomb scoring after some great work by the forwards. Gordano weren't done and scored on the other wing with josh Richards finishing well after Alex walder put him into space. Bridgwater started to get into the game more and used there powerful forwards to get some go forward which gave their backs some good ball to use with a nice try coming thought their centre. Gordano pushed hard at the end of the half and Jack Thomas popped up again to crash over for his second of the game. Extras added by Sam hodge ht 22-5.

The second half was a different story, Bridgwater became more confident with the ball in hand and kept hold of it much better while gordano pushed for the miracle pass and didn't do they basics as well as they have all season. It was no surprise that bridgy got the first points of the half though a driving maul. Gordano went straight down the other end of the pitch and scored from a driving maul themselves with the even young Andy peterson coming up with the ball. The young Alex walder added the extra. That would be all gordano would add to the score for the game as they seemed to just sit back and let Bridgwater do what ever they wanted. With 5 minutes to go they scored from another driving maul but with time running out Bridgwater took a penalty goal chance on the stroke of full time to grab themselves a losing bonus point.
Gordano take the 5 points and move 2 points above wiveliscombe, who have lead the league all year, but after the second half display feet are firmly on the floor as the team will have to cope with the pressures that come as league leaders.

The mark's barber's man of the match was hard working Andy peterson. Next week Gordano travel to the seaside to take on Weston-super-Mare 2s at the rec, 2.30 ko.
