Imps beaten

After a week off gordano where back in league action against 2nd place imperial at caswell Lane. Imperial brought down their abrasive pack who where keen to scrum at every opportunity. Gordano started poorly and imperial playing into a stiff breeze kept the ball up front and where using there large pack to work up the field. I was no surprise that imperial crossed over the line first. They should of had a second try but the winger dropped the ball over the line. Gordano needed to improve quickly and from an imperial attack strong defence forced an error which was pounched on and kicked though until joe Roswell touched down for 5 points, converted by sam hodge. Gordano where now starting to play some rugby and causing problems all over the park. Gordano scored a second though alex walder after a chip and chase, once again converted my hodge. The first half finished with gordano on top and a third try scored thought a training ground move from the backs putting Noah Holmes-McAdam in and again covered by hodge. Ht 21-5.

Gordano started the second half well and were gifted an easy 3 points but playing into the wind was always going to be hard work. Good defence kept imperial at bay for most of the half and only 1try was let in after a pass that looked slightly forward. With imperial fading gordano started to open more holes and after great work by Walder and Holmes-McAdam it was same hodge that finished of the game with 7 points of his own. Final score 31-10. It wasn't always a pretty game but to get a bonus point win against one of our league rivals is a great result.

The mark's Barbers man of the match is Dwaine Southall for covering nearly every position in the team. Things don't get any easier in the league with the long trip to Minehead next week.
