Successful travels for 1st XV

On Saturday gordano travelled to bath to play Stothert & Pitt on their challenging sloppy pitch and with the weather being very interchangeable, a tough afternoon could have been a head. As it was gordano battled hard to come away with an impressive win.
The match was being referred by the legendary Tony spreadbury so an entertaining game was always on the cards.
Playing up the slope first half gordano started the game very brightly and where moving the ball well between backs and forwards, they where rewarded with there good play with a penalty goal slotted over by Mike dyer. With the heavens now fully open, play was getting harder for both sides so the home side used there slope to gain some field position and took an easy 3points to level the scores. gordano where still making in roads in to the Stotherts defence everytime they had the ball and it wasn't long until Tom Arnall barged his way over from close range for the first try. Extras added by dyer. 3-10 Stothert had there best period of the first have after that and using there large pack helped by the driving rain they drove down the slope and flop over for an unconverted try 8-10. Just as the sun was making its way back out gordano where on the attack again just before the half time break. Great play from petch and knight linking though the middle which open space for noah homes-mcAdam to scamper in the corner for fine try. Conversion by dyer added, half time 8-17

Gordano knew the second half was time to put the hammer down and rose the intensity forcing Stothert to play mainly in there own half. Trys came quick though jake knight and Carl petch who worked hard in support all day.
With the bonus point in the bag gordano standards slipped which gave Stotherts an opportunity to play which they took with a try in the corner.

In the last 15mins gordano fitness showed as they ran in another 2 trys first kane southey and then noah homes-mcAdam getting his second, finished the game off well. Final score 13-43.
gordano where good value for the win and for the second week in a row scored 6 trys. Next week things should be a little tougher with the league favourites, wilverliscombe, coming to caswell lane, 3.00ko.

There where some great performances for gordano but the Gatehouse Architectural Aluminium man of the match is noah homes-mcAdam.
