Avon extended their winning run and reached the semi final of the Somerset Vase, in which they are hoping to better their performance from last year when they were runners up.
Although the pitch was in parts a quagmire after the heavy overnight rain, Avon got off to a great start when flanker Scott Book dived over for the opening try of the game.
The greasy ball and spoiling tactics of the visitors prevented much open play but fly half Shaun Wynes kept the scoreboard ticking over to punish Gordano's indiscretions with two penalties before half time.
Although Gordano reduced the deficit with two penalties themselves, Avon's lead was never seriously threatened and they wrapped the game up with two further successful penalties from Wynes.
