Sharks progress in Somerset Vase

Gordano managed to overcome an il disciplined start to run out comfortable winners.

Lee Worgan got the home side off to a good start after the Gordano pack continued to show their dominance in the tight, scoring from a driving lineout after 8 minutes. This was followed by 20 minutes of il discipline and poor decision making Gordano which let Teovil back into the game after a try was scored following the yellow card of Kaine Southey for not rolling away at a breakdown. The home side did manage a second try before half time, Aaran Thomas capitalising on a nicely delayed pass from Chris Worgan to score his first try for the 1st team.

Gordano managed to keep the penalty count down in the second and as the visiting team ran out of steam Gordano started to run the ball more and scored some good tries. Jack Hendy was the first in after the break after a lovely pick up from Lee Worgan in the midfield, this was closely followed by Chris Worgan going over after an excellent counter attack from Elliott Hanscombe who came on at half time, after dotting down under the posts Chris Worgan couldn't fail to get the conversion although he gave it a bloody good shot! A quick tap and go from scrum half Kaine Southey released Jack Thomas who showed good slight of hand to get the offload away eventually releasing Josh Richards away on the right hand side for his first try since the opening weekend. The seventh and final try of the day was scored in much the same way as the first with the forwards powering over from a driven Maul - Matt Stevens dotting down with the conversion from wide from Jack Hendy.

It was a good second half performance from Gordano who will be looking to show more composure from the first whistle next week when they travel away to Imperial. Stand out performance was from back rower Carl Petch who worked tirelessly throughout the game.
